MASC 50 Years Celebrations

Tickets are now available for the Barn Dance on 11^th July. See posters sent out by e-mail & on notice board for full details. Tickets are free to all swimmers & their immediate families on a “first come” basis. To reserve your tickets please e-mail Secretary Pete Bailey on peter.bayley@tesco.net. Or speak to Pete direct.

Junior Southern League

The last gala of the season is being held on Saturday 20^th June at the Link Centre, Swindon. There will be coach transport provided initially for swimmers & poolside with remaining seats available for parents. Please meet at Market Place 4.15pm – coach departs 4.30pm. Seats must be reserved at club desk prior to travelling. Team list is on the notice board - swimmers need to advise Julie or Tracey of their availability as soon as possible.

Julie Davis has been Team Manager for our junior squad for several years now. This will be Julie’s last gala in that capacity. Big thanks to her from all swimmers & Committee for all her efforts & achievements past & present.

Summer League

The next Summer League fixture will be held on 4^th July at Wooton Bassett. Full details will be on the team list shortly to be displayed on the notice board.

Door Register Rota

Despite previous e-mail pleas we are still very short of volunteers to register the swimmers at the beginning of sessions. This is a simple task – basically ticking names on the register & takes just 15 mins before the start of the session. We will have no option but to cancel sessions with little or no warning if people do not come forward to help with this required procedure. This has to be completed for the health & safety of the swimmers & they cannot enter the water without first being registered.

Drinks whilst training.

Now the weather has warmed up & the temperature at the pool has risen greatly the swimmers need to keep well hydrated & drink more. Many have been running out of drink & needing refills. As our teachers are not able to leave poolside whilst teaching we are reliant on spectators to refill bottles. We cannot always guarantee spectators present to do this so please ensure that your child has adequate water/weak squash brought with them to prevent de-hydration. Ideally they need a minimum of 1 litre - many will need more particularly during the longer sessions.

This also applies to gala’s as it is often difficult to source drink refills there.

We still have committee positions that need to be filled. Details can be found on our website.

It is very important that we get more help to enable MASC to continue running efficiently.

Club Championships 2009.

Entry forms will be issued via email in the next 2 weeks. Please ensure all entries are submitted before the closing date.

Summer Closure

Saturday - No session on the 1^st August to 29^th August, back to normal on 5^th September.

Friday -     No session on 7^th August to 28th August, back to normal on 4th September.

Monday & Thursday will run as normal over the summer holiday.
