MASC Swimmers hit Open Water

MASC Swimmers after competing there swims

Three MASC Swimmers attended the Wiltshire ASA Open water event on Wednesday 15th July at Coate Water.

With the water temperature at 23 degrees the swimmers took to the open water. Lily Bridges was first up in the 12  to 14 year old event and finished in a time of 25 mins 3 seconds beating last years time by nearly 3 minutes.

It was the Max benning-batstone and Abigail Jackson_Wilding in the 15 and over event, Both swimmers came in with really good times Max in a time of 25mins 45 seconds beating last years time by nearly 5 minutes and

Abi recording a time of 26mins 9 seconds at her first attempt and beating the time she had set her self.

The open water swim is over 1500m and is open to any swimmer age 12 and over and is a real accomplishment to swim and complete.
There is also a 1 lap event over 750m being introduced for 11 year old as a taster for open water.

The date of next years event is the 14th July 2010 and MASC hope to have more swimmers attend next year.

The 3 swmmers in the photo are sporting the 50th Anniversary Polo shirts which will be available to all swimmers in the forthcoming weeks.
