Melksham Swordfish Swim at Wiltshire County Championships.
Four Melksham swimmers recently competed at this years County Championships at the Link Centre Swindon.
Jamie Collings (14) Eleanor Milner (13) Toby Benning – Batstone (11) & Hannah Malpass (10) all earned county qualifying times over the past year making them eligible to participate in the event. All train regularly at Melksham Blue Pool & compete in League fixtures, Open Meets & Swordfish’s own annual Club Championships.
They all swam against stiff competition in their own age groups all gaining new PB times with Jamie winning Gold in the 50m front crawl (26 secs) & Hannah silver in 50m Breastroke (47secs).
Anyone who would like a chance to swim in next years Wiltshire County Championships needs to train as much as possible & then compete in our annual Club Championships (held Sept/Oct) or a licensed Open Meet. If they gain a County qualifying time from 50m upwards in any of the four strokes, they will then be eligible to enter.
2010 qualifying times will be issued in the coming weeks & will be displayed on our website.
